Just a reminder that I need from each of you to provide you your final grades:

1) Link to your portfolio and reflections

2) Your contributions this semester

3) Your peer evaluation (if already sent as part of EDIT752 then completed)

4) Your course evaluations (please take time to fill these out tonight as they are important!)

5) Your writing section and everything else by latest Monday, May 11th at 12noon (please see revised copy of Google document outline.

I need ALL of these things in order to give you a grade so I can then be VERY PROUD to watch you walk across the stage (or to celebrate in your own way) as you reflect on your accomplishments this year!

Best,

- Brenda

Final Presentation Outline

Team, there is a problem with some logistical issues that I need to deal with regarding the scheduling of my Dad's surgery so I am leaving earlier to PA (Monday) and returning Wed. afternoon. I  will post the compiled outline for the collaborative article later in the week. All sections look good at this point, so continue writing in these directions and we can modify/edit as we go. -   Brenda

Data Analysis Report

Here is the link to the Knowledge Center Website Usability Testing Data Analysis in google docs.

I created a folder called "Usability raw data" and put my notes in there since I had a lot of raw info. If anyone else wants a place to store  their raw data feel free to add to this folder.- J

Here are some oldies but goodies in relation to EPSS as design methodology/construct:

Distributed Cognition foundation for EPSS - Dickleman (who taught for us here at GMU)

Literacy Explorer: A Performance Support Tool - An article we wrote about LiteracyAccess Online in 2000. See the table in the middle of the article that has some attributes of EPSS listed.

Performance Support in Perspective - Nice graphic in the middle of Why EPSS?

Performance Support for Usability Testing - Dickleman early work on supporting Usability. Applicable for both upcoming testing and example.

Web 2.0 Resources

What is Web 2.0 - classic article from O'Reilly, technical perspective

Judy Brown's Web 2.0 resource site - a developer I respect greatly. She will be presenting at our eLearning conference.

Still looking for good pedagogical pieces....you may need to go directly to the journal in library.gmu.edu to access these....

Wiberg, M. (2007). Netlearning and Learning through Networks. Educational Technology & Society, 10 (4), 49-61.http://www.ifets.info/journals/10_4/6.pdf  - good conceptual piece with some related ideas to mine.

Dron, J. (2007). Designing the Undesignable: Social Software and Control. Educational Technology & Society, 10 (3), 60-71.  http://www.ifets.info/journals/10_3/5.pdf Look at this section: Anderson describes six modes of interaction in online learning – teacher-student, teacher-content, teacher-teacher, student-student, student-content and content-content (Anderson, 2003).

SCORM POWER POINT - Merrill, Bush, Andersonscorm PP.ppt

Here is an interesting paragraph related to our discussion today.....

First, what kind of problem is it? well-defined? ill-defined? wicked-hard? Next, what factors does the client want to optimize? Paul Pruneau was the first person to introduce me to the canard about time, money and quality. He is rabid in his belief that you can optimize only two of these factors. And that as a result, the third must suffer. Finally, what is the general class of product? Will it be a message, a tool or an environment? Will it be primarily a communication, an interface or a place? These classes yield an entire taxonomy of possibilities, but thatʼs another lecture.

[The notion that there is no perfect design process, what seems to matter most is that your team agrees on a systematic approach for design and development.]

- See http://www.dubberly.com/articles/managing-complex-design-projects.html

Look at how many design models there are that this person collected (in and outside of our field).....

I like the purple, Jennifer. You're already making good decisions (smile).

John, Carl, and I will do a hybrid of powerpoint and audacity. There's really nothing to see in audacity.

I will most likely be unable to meet Trista at noon on Wednesday. I should be available about 12:30 PM.

Guys, I'm interested in doing design as inquiry or design as judgement...
