Goal:
- Create VA assessments section for T/TAC online
- Allow teachers to submit curricula, find ideas, lesson plans, resources for special needs students
- Support teachers by providing a vehicle for collaboration
Issue/Actuals:

- Transition from life skills to cognitive skills assessments
- State mandated assessments
- New process for teachers (standardized procedures not used previously)
- Teachers did not have sufficient access to resources
- Assessments used at the time not aligned with SOLs
- Collaboration outside classroom is limited
- Teachers spend inordinate amount of time developing student portfolios that were not aligned with SOLs
- Teachers did not have experience aligning lesson plans to new standards
- Some teachers do not have experience assessing students using VAAP standards
- Teachers busy and constantly need to monitor students
- Teachers have limited resources
Optimals:
- Online manuals need to be searchable and user friendly

- Create lesson plans
- Search lesson plans
- Next steps (as of 12/05):
- Integrate additional supports:
- Interview expert teachers
- Surveys
- Resources
- Collaboration

Note: Their are major changes to the T/TAC online site page.
In 2003- Their was an online forum section as part of the main topic tab
In 2004-- The online forum section was not available but a school imporvemnt tab was added
Currently(2007) , we have online training and VA assessment sections that was not available before. ( Rahel)
Fall 2003( group 2) & Fall 2004 Performance Analysis
T/TAC Fall 2004 is a continuation on a T/TAC project, which began in Fall 2003.
Overall, the team tried to create a system that allow educators to input and share LIP(Local Improvement Plans) reports in a standardized and easy fashion.
Mission: "To enhance the communication and the exchange of info. amongst educational professionals and the general public in order to facilitate the continual development of a shared community of practice."
Goal: "To build upon the school improvement section of the T/TAC users to
- easily input local improvement Plans (LIPs) & LIP Report data
- Share LIPs and LIP Report data."
LIP review process in 2004
Information is passed from VDOE project coordinator --> Technical assistants --> Local education administrator -->School superintendents -->.. (cycle through for reviewed and approval )… --> T/TAC Admin THEN disseminated to the public
I attached a summary of the issues, requirements and limitation of their project in a table format. In addition, I added some descriptions for clarity. (Rahel)

Notes from TTAC Spring 2003’s final presentation
It looks like their project was to look at the TTAC functional prototype then conduct usability testing, redesign the site based on the findings of the usability testing, and launch the revised TTAC website.
TTAC Online phases
• Phases 1-3 (Fall 2000 – Fall 2001):
Analysis and early designs
• Phase 4 (Spring 2002):
Developed a (mostly) functional prototype
• Phase 5-6 (Fall 2002 – Spring 2003):
Tested, redesigned, and revised for launch
Phase 5 goals—All of these goals can be put under the umbrella of “Ease of Use.” The users want a site that is easy to use, navigate, and access information. The T/TAC staff members want a site that is easy to use and can disseminate information quickly.
Phase 5 goals--508 compliant
• Ease of Navigation
• User-friendly Webshops
• Content Management
• Assistive Technology Content
• Browser Compatibility
Phase 6 goals
- Implement an incremental plan to meet prioritized goals for Section 508 compliance in preparation for launch.
- Prepare for and conduct usability testing to identify areas for continued improvement.
- Establish and conduct formative and summative evaluation of T/TAC Online.
- Foster relations with T/TAC Regional Staff and other stakeholders by preparing them to add content and to use the site
- Revise T/TAC Online based on data from usability testing to prepare for launch.
In late spring, their presentation to T/TAC Regional Directors and Virginia Department of Education Stakeholders:
• Introduced the site
• Trained users to input Events, Resources, Success Stories and Webshops
• Converted PowerPoints to Webshops
• Discussion and survey
Notes from TTAC Fall 2003--group 1
Notes from interview in mid-September 2003 with MB:
"I would like to see some webshops and a sample course - I would also like to see you work with the TTAC Staff on usability and creating and uploading content. Primarily TTAC Staff at GMU, and the Assistive Technology people in other T/TACS around the state."
Notes from interview in mid-September 2003 with MW:
We need to make it possible to easily upload webshops ASAP. Many staff are apprehensive about uploading. Process involves turning each Powerpoint slide into a jpg, uploading it, & adding the text so that its is accessible. There has to be a better workflow, perhaps one that can utilize the text on the PowerPoint slides without having to type it again.
Staff don't understand what a webshop is. We need a webshop on what eLearning is & one on how to design a webshop.
Notes from TTAC Fall 2003’s final presentation--group 1
